SurePark Scholarships Terms & Conditions

To be eligible to apply for the SurePark Scholarships program you must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Open to Gold Coast Health employees only (full-time, part-time and casual).
  • Must be an Australian resident employed within Gold Coast Health.
  • Gold Coast Health employees will be given the opportunity to apply for scholarships up to the value of $5,000.
  • Study is relevant to your area of current work and will help you to progress in Gold Coast Health.
  • Acceptance into Certificate, Diploma, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor, Postgraduate, Masters or PhD courses, Workshops and Masterclasses, Conference Registration, Specialised Training and Executive Coaching between 30 September 2024 to 31 December 2025.
  • Have not previously received a scholarship for this particular course or been unsuccessful in completing this course.
  • Funds are NOT to be used towards union memberships or training, Gold Coast Health internal training or personal development courses.
  • Documentation of acceptance to attain the academic qualification are to be submitted with an invoice to Gold Coast Hospital Foundation for funds to be released.
  • Applications must be approved and supported by your Director.
  • Successful applicants will be notified on Thursday the 5th of September and will be required to attend the Award Ceremony on Wednesday 25th September 2024  - 12noon - 2pm. 
  • Applicants must predominantly work at GCUH.
  • Individual applications only. No group applications will be considered.
  • The payment or reimbursement of education expenses by Gold Coast Hospital Foundation may give rise to a fringe benefit that is subject to Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT). Employees must access and understand Queensland Health information on FBT implications. Specifically, employees eligible for the public hospitals FBT exemption cap ($17,000 GUTV) and choosing to salary packaging, need to be aware that non-salary packaged fringe benefits, such as FBT taxable education expenses, have first priority in applying the cap and will impact the amount an employee may salary package without incurring a personal cost for the FBT liability. Accordingly, employees are strongly recommended to seek appropriate financial advice and to speak directly with their salary packaging provider to determine if an adjustment will be required to their personal salary packaging arrangements.   • Applicants will show how learnings will benefit their career, patients and how they will translate learnings back into the workplace.
  • Applicants will complete a case study upon the completion of their course.
  • Funds will be reimbursed to the GCHF if the course ends up less than the amount awarded - Invoice / Receipt will be required
  • Scholarship funds are for the course cost only, not for transport, parking or accommodation
